Oscar Frederick Anderson, 88, of 304 S. Perry, died Tuesday (Feb. 16, 1971) at the home of his son, Maurice, 7412 Howard Ave., Hammond. He had resided with his son since Jan. 2 and had been ill two weeks. Born south of Attica in Fountain County Jan. 25, 1883, he was the son of Andrew Peter and Matilda Johnson Anderson. He married Elizabeth Gamble, who died in 1915. He then married Bertha Wallace, who died in 1946. Life resident of Fountain County, he attended the Winthrop School. He retired from farming in 1951. Survivors include his son, seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Friday at the DeSutter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harry C. Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Quaker Cemetery north of Winthrop.
